Alien: Romulus Review and Release Dates
Alien: Romulus takes the Alien series back to its classic horror vibe, introducing a new generation to the terrifying Xenomorphs. Read on for details of the Alien: Romulus release on digital and Steelbook and a spoiler-free review of the film.
Alien: Romulus brings back the heart-pounding horror that made the original Alien movies famous, while also adding a fresh twist by focusing on a younger cast. This choice makes the story feel relatable to a new audience who will appreciate the sci-fi suspense and jump scares. The sibling connection between Andy and Rain adds warmth and humanity to the dark story—watching them look out for each other while battling terrifying aliens makes the danger feel more real. There are multiple times when Rain could abandon her robot brother but she chooses not to because of their bond and he is the only remaining family member she has.
Visually, Alien: Romulus has the dark, eerie feel of an abandoned spaceship down perfectly. Despite the dim lighting, every action scene is clear, so you can follow all the intense moments without missing a thing. The CGI is solid and the aliens are appropriately gross like the in the original movies.
Fans of the Alien series will also love that the tradition of a strong female character fighting off aliens is alive and well here. The horror elements are intense and overall, Alien: Romulus is a chilling and action-packed addition to the Alien franchise.
The original 1979 sci-fi thriller, Alien, is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year. Fans can experience the terror in a 2-Movie Collection digital bundle (Alien & Alien: Romulus) on October 15 in 4K UHD, HD and SD.
