Our Little Secret (2024)

Lohan’s most recent Christmas film brings back the classic “hiding a secret from the family” trope. Our Little Secret stars Lohan as Avery, who discovers her boyfriend’s sister is dating her ex-boyfriend Logan, played by Ian Harding. The former couple must spend Christmas together under one roof while pretending they don’t know each other and hiding their dating history from both families.

This movie goes full chaos mode in the best possible way. Avery accidentally gets high at church, fakes a dog emergency, and creates chaos trying to impress her boyfriend’s controlling mother, played brilliantly by Kristin Chenoweth. The plot is absolutely ridiculous, but that’s part of the charm. Lohan and Chenoweth steal every scene they’re in together, and watching them try to one-up each other provides most of the movie’s entertainment value.

The relationship between Avery and Logan lacks chemistry, which is a problem for a holiday romance, but the supporting cast carries it through. The time-skip montage at the beginning is so bad it’s good (the faces!!), and there’s a scene where Lohan makes fake dog distress sounds that’s actually funny. Our Little Secret earned 32.4 million views in its first weekend, making it Lohan’s biggest Netflix launch.
