5 Things That Should Be in the Wakanda Series on Disney+
The Walt Disney Company announced that it has entered into a five-year overall exclusive television deal with writer-director-producer Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media, who co-wrote and directed Marvel Studios’ acclaimed global smash hit Black Panther. Proximity will develop new television series, which includes one based in the Kingdom of Wakanda for Disney+. The deal also enables Proximity to develop television for other divisions of the Company. Here are five things I want to see in the Wakanda series!
Read on for five things that should be in the new Wakanda series
The Fate of W’Kabi and the Border Tribe
We know that W’Kabi (played by the wonderful Daniel Kaluuya) and his Border Tribe surrendered at the end of Black Panther. I can’t be the only one who wonders what their fate is?
Was W’Kabi imprisoned or expelled from Wakanda? Will there be an opportunity for him to come back? What about the relationship between him and Okoye?
These are all things we need answers immediately!
Queen Ramonda Backstory
Queen Ramonda is a fictional character from the Marvel Comics universe. She is a supporting character most commonly associated with the Black Panther storyline. She is the mother of T’Challa, also known as the Black Panther, who is the king of the fictional African nation of Wakanda.
How fun would it be to see the origins of Queen Ramonda? I’d love to see how she grew up and the evolution of her love for T’Challa’s father.
One Episode Dedicated to the Dora Milaje
The Dora Milaje was such a stunning aspect of Black Panther. Strong, beautiful women who make up the entire king’s guard?
Yes, please!
I’d love to see more of how they train and the method for who is chosen to be one. Give us more of their dedication to King T’Challa, their Wakanda salute, and show us other members!
In the meantime, make sure to check out Protectors of Wakanda, a Dora Milaje book published by Marvel.
More of Nakia’s Rescue Missions!
Nakia is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe and a prominent figure in the Black Panther storyline. She is a skilled Wakandan spy and warrior who is often associated with the Black Panther and the nation of Wakanda.
In Black Panther, Nakia goes on a mission to recuse kidnapped girls and T’Challa assists her. I’d love to see more of Nakia’s rescue missions in and around Wakanda!
NEW VILLAINS
Anyone else think that new villains should be in the new Wakanda series on Disney+? New villains in a no-brainer in the Wakanda universe. Now that Wakanda has opened up to the entire world, who else will try to infiltrate to gain power and control over vibranium?
A Killmonger Return?
Speaking of villains, I always thought that Eric Killmonger’s anger was justified. He is the true villain that has a reason for the frustration and hatred for the hypocrisy of the leaders of Wakanda.
He died at the end of Black Panther and made a quick cameo in Wakanda Forever but when did that ever stop Marvel?
