Book Review: The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book
Of the many iconic things about Disney Parks, drinks and cocktails are some of my favorite things to explore. To me, there is nothing better than relaxing in a themed Disney space with a drink (Trader Sam’s to be specific) after a long day at the Parks. So imagine my delight in being able to review The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book, releasing October 2021 from author Ashley Craft!

The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book Review
The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book starts off with a bit of history of alcohol in the Disney Parks. In an effort to keep out the “rowdy element,” Walt Disney didn’t allow Disneyland to sell alcohol. For sixty-four years this rule was in place until Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened. Oga’s Cantina is the one place that sells alcohol in Disneyland (other than Club 33.)
The book also gives a quick summary of some of the items you will need access to in order to craft the many drinks in the cookbook. Items like a blender, cocktail shaker, candy molds and various syrups. The syrup section has the recipes to create agave, black raspberry, hibiscus, ginger, mint syrups including a basic simple syrup recipe.
The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book has a good mix of cocktails, juice recipes, slushies, shakes (including those from Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes), smoothies and includes fun tidbits like how Epcot’s Jungle Juice is a basic POG (passion fruit, orange and guava) concoction. I was happy to see the recipe for the Uh Oa! and the description of how much it is an experience in addition to being a drink! Read more here in my review for Trader Sam’s Tiki Bar.
Photos can make or break a cookbook and the photos from The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book are gorgeous! There are several ideas on how to dress drinks up with Disney flare and there is a wide range of cups and mugs shown for styling options.
The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book also comes with a Disney Parks map that shows where the drink locations are which can be really handy for those that go to the Parks often! The Unofficial Disney Parks Drink Recipe Book is a great Christmas gift or gift for any Disney foodie fan who likes to recreate Disney recipes at home.
