Film Review
Deadpool & Wolverine follows Wade Wilson, who’s given up his mercenary days until a new existential threat forces him back into action. This time, he’s got to convince an extremely reluctant Wolverine to join the fight, leading to some of the funniest and most intense moments in the film.
The dynamic between Logan and X-23 adds a surprising tenderness, while the CGI-heavy battle between Wade, Wolverine, and multiple Deadpool variants is one of the best sequences in the film. Fun cameos and hilarious banter make this a fitting end to the Deadpool trilogy, delivering on both laughs and exciting fight scenes.
Fun Easter Eggs:
- Originally seen in the LOKI Disney Plus show, the Guardian of the Void, Alioth, has a big role in this film.
- After being told The Punisher died in the Void trying to attack Cassandra Nova, Deadpool says, “Which one? There’s been a lot of them.” This is in reference to the multiple actors who have played Frank Castle in various films and shows, including Dolph Lundgren, Thomas Jane, Ray Stevenson (RIP!!), and now Jon Bernthal.
- Wolverine is about 5 foot 3 inches tall in the comics, so Deadpool comes across a tiny Wolverine variant in the film. The scene is hilarious!
- Dogpool is played by Britain’s Ugliest Dog, Peggy.
